Wow! That was fast. Is that cause she just wasn't catching on? Did your boss tell her it was her last day next wednesday, or is this like a little secret and she is keeping ethel and then letting her go that day? The reason why I am asking is if someone were to tell my last day would be on such day, then I would say "screw you, why stay if you are already letting me go" and leave. I was laid off from a job due to money, and she told me right after lunch. She wanted me to stay till the end of the day, but said either way I would get paid for the whole day. I basically told her why would I want to stay, knowing I was no longer working there. Maybe it is just me, but I wouldn't want to be somewhere knowing I am not really wanted.

Ethel has been training for over 3 weeks now, usually it takes one week for a person to be trained enought to be on their own. She just isn't getting it. I don't know if my boss actually told her that her last day is Wednesday or she just told her she had until Wednesday to improve and if she didn't then we would let her go.
